Awesome tyler
Had an insane display of Red Sprites tonight from the backyard here in Missouri. Literally the only clearing in the state was in Washington, MO. This storm was 200 miles or so away and the light is actually the flash from the lightning within the storm.

Nelson Lakes (first 2 images) is an incredible place and very well known! However, just down the road, only by a few hours or so, is the Moria Arch in Karamea! This is far less well known, despite being an EPIC spot and being film location in Lord Of The Rings.
I took my Sony A7Rii on this trip and captured both locations with a 28mm f2 lens and these are some of my favorite results!

This sunset had very muted colors given it was basically a clear sky. So then the challenge was to find something in a pretty uniform beach that stuck out or contradicted the surroundings.
Found it
I photographed through a UV lens to dim down the sky and highlights.
