• 1941 Chrysler Newport Dual Cowl Phaeton by LeBaron • The Chrysler Newport, one of the last dual-cowl phaetons, was designed by Ralph Roberts and custom-built by LeBaron in Detroit, featuring an all-aluminum body, concealed headlamps, and a folding windshield. Playboy Henry J. “Bob” Topping, Jr., once owner of the New York Yankees and former husband of Lana Turner, customized his Newport with a Cadillac engine and transmission, personalized hubcaps and valve covers, and his initials on the grille. The Newport served as a show car and as a testbed for new design ideas! #Chrysler#Newport#DualCowl#Phaeton#LeBaron#carweek#collectorcars#PebbleBeach#concoursdelegance
• 1958 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa Scaglietti Spyder • The 1958 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa Scaglietti Spyder is one of just 19 cars built with Scaglietti’s famous pontoon-fender bodywork, a design that not only gave the car its dramatic look but also improved airflow to the brakes during endurance racing. Beneath the aluminum skin sat Ferrari’s legendary 3.0-liter Colombo V12, an engine that carried the Testa Rossa to multiple major victories, including Ferrari’s third straight win at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1958! • 1962 Shelby 260 Cobra • This is CSX 2003, one of the earliest serialized Cobras and a huge piece of Shelby history. Back in 1962, Henry Ford II and Ford’s Special Vehicles Team actually tested this car to help secure the production deal that launched Shelby American. It was completed by Ed Hugus’s European Cars in Pittsburgh as an experimental prototype, and it’s believed to be the only one of the five Hugus-built cars that still carries its original 260-cubic-inch 'Experimental High Performance' V8, along with its original transmission and rear end. • 1983 Porsche-Kremer CK5 • This is quite the rare machine, with only two examples built for the 1982 and 1983 World Sportscar Championship. This particular car made its mark at the 1983 24 Hours of Le Mans, driven by Derek Warwick, Jürgen Jelinski, and Guy Gaillard. It was engineered with lightweight aluminum spaceframe construction and DP Motorsport bodywork. Under the rear deck sits a twin-turbo, intercooled flat-fan engine derived from the Porsche 935.
