I now have separate full-duplex satellite codeplugs for AT-D890UV firmware versions 1.03 & 1.04. The 1.03 version will work with radios that have 1.04 firmware, but you'll have to change a menu item to enable full-duplex ops (see the README PDF):

Even if you get Motorola radios, you still have to find and use CPS software to program the codeplugs and get them to work, it's a skill that takes time to develop but the main problem was always that keyloaders radios = expensive, can buy a pair and loader for under $1000 now.

✅ Find out if local codeplugs exist that you can download and modify. Consider buying a supported radio.
✅ Don’t buy the cheapest possible radio. If the price goes down, your blood pressure and frustration will increase.
