Debris clearing operations, at the collapsed SAO building site in Bangkok’s Chatuchak district, have now reached the basement and surrounding area. A pile of rubble, about three meters high and 15 to 20 meters wide, still occupies the space near the parking area. According to Suriyachai Rawiwan, Director of the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, it is expected to take another 2 or 3 days to clear. The search operation, which continued throughout last night, has not uncovered any additional human remains. The 280 body parts previously recovered are currently being identified, through DNA analysis, at the Police General Hospital’s Institute of Forensic Medicine, to determine whether they match any of the 13 individuals still reported to be missing.
