Back when CompactFlash was the mediums of choice, you could get it in two formats, flash obviously, & Microdrives
Same concept used in the iPod, same technology used in the iPod Mini, it is a hard drive in a compact formfactor
All of mine have outlasted all of my flash cards...
I’ve got one even older; this 8.7 GB 2.5” IDE SSD from 2004. I still use this in an old laptop running Windows 98, and it still works great today!

そのお店には、今となっては入手困難な SmartMedia とか xD-Picture Card、CompactFlash も併せて売っておりました。記憶容量はほとんどがMBクラスで、GBクラスはほとんどない（２GBのxD-Picture Card ってのがありました、4,000円）。見てて懐かしかったなあ。

JM20330ってSATA－PATA変換チップが載った、CF-SATA変換器があるらしい。買うか。

Before SD there was CompactFlash. SD came as a lower-priced alternative for compact cameras. DSLRs and high-end compacts continued using CompactFlash for a long time.
Sony cameras with solid-state storage used Memory Stick.
There were also some Sony cameras with CD-RWs.

What about CompactFlash (1994) and SmartMedia (1995)? Most digital camera brands didn’t jump from 3.5” diskette to SD card. Also, Sony used Memory Stick, not SD, and that was introduced 10 months earlier in October 1998. So this post makes no sense.

I remember when they were even smaller, and even the days of 256MB SD cards, CompactFlash, 2.5" Floppies, etc...

CF (CompactFlash) - Karte.
2003 habe ich mir eine Canon EOS 300D gekauft. Diese Karte habe ich mir dann ein wenig später zugelegt. Beides war viele Jahre bei mir im Einsatz. Die Kamera habe ich leider nicht mehr.

J'ai retrouvé dans mes cartons mon premier appareil photo numérique que j'ai acheté il y a environ 25 ans. Il s'agit du HP Photosmart 715 avec une carte compactflash d'une très très haute capacité de... 256MB 😃
