I’ve got one even older; this 8.7 GB 2.5” IDE SSD from 2004. I still use this in an old laptop running Windows 98, and it still works great today!

this thing decided to kill itself updating last night.
I’m at WWDC so can’t really do much with what I have here, but it doesn’t recognize it had a battery and will only boot to windows for 50 seconds before locking up
Can’t restore a bios because of that, unfortunately

Went from Ford EEC-IV based batch fire EFI to this setup just for fun, and honestly couldn’t be happier with the results. The only people who hate carburetors are those that don’t know how to operate them. One computer to 0 computers providing nothing but benefit to me!

Just need to finish writing a custom NeXTSTEP 3.3/Rhapsody driver for the ATI Rage XL video card in this, then it can run with proper resolution and color... A huge effort but worth it for the eOne!

You wouldn’t happen to have schematics available for these as well, would you? Been working to try to repair this Comma 3 for someone, unfortunately the damage is too bad for it to be feasible to probe this all out to bodge it back together. A schematic would help greatly.

In one of my recent videos, I attempted to run Geekbench on a prototype MacBook, and found that Geekbench blocked the results. Well, not anymore! It turns out it was very easy to patch that check, and after doing so I was able to get results on all my prototype Macs!

After a few weeks of waiting, I finally received the 1TB NAND I needed to attempt to upgrade a MacBook Neo, and it ended up working without a hitch! This particular NAND model (K8A5) is most commonly used in the 1TB config of the iPhone 16 Pro, but works in the Neo as well!

It has finally arrived (a couple days late)! Unfortunately, due to the RAM and NAND shortages driven by garbage AI, I do not yet have the necessary NAND I need to attempt a storage upgrade. But rest assured I was able to source some and have it on the way!
