This week made it a year since I officially moved to the UK as a Global Talent, and what a year it’s been 🇬🇧
In that time, I joined Accenture, a global technology company reinventing change. There, I work with agile teams designing and maintaining accessible government digital services for the UK public sector.
As a Content Designer, being able to work closely with
GOV.UK and GDS standards has been such a privilege 🚀
I also spend time knowledge-sharing and volunteering, helping others understand and appreciate the impact of user-centred design—easily one of my favourite things to do 🙂
On the personal side, I’ve fallen deeply in love with the North of England—the quiet luxury of slow mornings, scenic train rides, and long reflective walks to the office or the mall. I haven’t driven my car in a year (and surprisingly, I don’t miss it).
I’ve met amazing people, joined inspiring tech, design, and sport communities, and even rekindled my love for volleyball—I currently train with the Newcastle Volleyball Team ❤️
There have been laughs, lessons, and even tears, because rebuilding your life, network, and sense of belonging from scratch isn’t always easy. Still, I’m grateful to be doing it in an inclusive, diverse, and genuinely kind environment that makes the journey worthwhile.
So here I am: a year in the UK, days away from a new age, pausing to take it all in—the growth, the work I love, the new connections I’ve made, and the city that’s slowly becoming home.
Cheers to another year of learning, unlearning, serving, and living fully💕
