Honestly, I think Rick overdid it in the books. It got to the point where I was rolling my eyes, even in COTG and WOTTG. I’m sure we’ll see more of his confidence vs bravery struggles in season 4 when he has to go into the Labyrinth to find Pan since satyrs hate being underground
