ALT EDITORS' SUGGESTION Charge and pair density waves in a spin- and valley-polarized system at a Van Hove singularity 25 February, 2026 The authors show here how a simple model of a spin- and valley-polarized two-dimensional electron system tuned to a Van Hove singularity can give rise to a pair density wave state. Using a renormalization group analysis, they demonstrate that a negative effective interaction can lead to either charge density wave or pair density wave order.
