Deviled Eggs with Candied Bacon 🥚🥓✨
Hey Scrum chums! Here's a meals idea that elevates the most beloved backyard cookout classic into something completely extraordinary — these deviled eggs with candied bacon take me straight back to a gorgeous summer afternoon at a little Tennessee farmhouse cookout where the most incredible sweet smoky bacon crumbled deviled eggs arrived on a beautiful platter and disappeared before anything else hit the table! 😍
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Serves: 12
Ingredients:
- 12 large eggs, hard boiled & peeled
- ⅓ cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- Salt & white pepper to taste
- Smoked paprika to garnish
Candied Bacon:
- 6 strips thick cut bacon
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp black pepper
- ¼ tsp cayenne
Steps:
1. Make candied bacon — preheat oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with foil and a wire rack.
2. Mix brown sugar, black pepper and cayenne. Press generously onto both sides of each bacon strip.
3. Bake 15–18 minutes until deeply caramelized and crispy. Cool completely then crumble.
4. Halve hard boiled eggs lengthwise. Remove yolks into a bowl.
5. Mash yolks with mayonnaise, Dijon, apple cider vinegar, salt and white pepper until silky smooth.
6. Pipe or spoon filling back into egg whites.
7. Top each egg with candied bacon crumble and a dusting of smoked paprika. Serve immediately.
Scrumtrulescent tip: Cool that candied bacon completely before crumbling — warm bacon breaks into uneven chunks but fully cooled candied bacon shatters into perfect sweet smoky pieces that make every deviled egg look absolutely stunning! 🥓
