India's ambitious
#Gaganyaan human spaceflight mission just took a major step forward with the successful testing of the
#indigenously developed CE20 cryogenic engine.
👉Engine Power Upgrade: The
#CE20 engine powers the upper stage of the
#LVM3 rocket. Originally operating at 19 tonnes thrust, it's now qualified for 22 tonnes, increasing payload capacity.
👉Rigorous Testing: Four engines underwent 39 hot tests totaling 8810 seconds (exceeding human-rating standards) to ensure reliability and safety for astronauts.
👉Gaganyaan Ready: CE 20 engine successfully completed acceptance tests and is mission-ready for the first unmanned Gaganyaan flight scheduled for Q2 2024.
👉Boosting Capabilities: This upgraded engine marks a significant achievement in India's space program, paving the way for future human spaceflight endeavors.
