Life with T1 is difficult enough as it is without barriers like this @DavidGreen4CSR @MareeToddMSP have you seen this. What will you do to encourage the @scotgov to reverse their decision on withdrawing centralised funding for diabetes tech? #DiabetesChat #GBDoc #T1D
This was shared with us in 2024 for the Roundtable discussion in @ScotParl Personally, I cry when I read this. The author now has HCL but even that wasn’t straight forward. Please share. #T1D #GBDoc @DiabetesScot @RCPEdin @AConstance23 @ScotGovFM

Can anyone point me in the direction of bloggers within the #doc or #gbdoc? I'd like to get to know others within the #t1d space as I tip my toe back into the diabetes blogosphere.

Who said sugar was off the table with type 1 diabetes (T1D)? 👀 Here at Breakthrough T1D HQ, our colleagues living with T1D helped replace myths with facts by sharing their go-to sweet treats – because there’s no such thing as ‘forbidden’ foods if you have type 1. It’s not about what you eat, but how much insulin you take. In fact, some sugary snacks are essential for raising low glucose levels. Your turn! Tell us your favourite sweet treats below and share this post to help replace T1D myths with facts. 💙 #diabetesawarenessweek2026 #diabetesawareness #GBDoc

From marathon training, walking your dog or dancing in the living room – being active is for everyone. It’s all about planning around the activity to help manage your glucose levels. This Diabetes Awareness Week, help debunk common T1D myths by sharing this post. 💙 To simply learn more about exercise and type1 diabetes - tap the link bit.ly/3QINlVc #DiabetesAwarenessWeek #GBDoc

Our MythBuster engine is here to tackle one of the biggest T1D myths: what people think ‘causes’ the condition. 🔍 T1D isn’t caused by anything a person did or didn’t do – it’s an autoimmune condition, and there’s nothing one can do to prevent it. This Diabetes Awareness Week, let's debunk these harmful myths. Share this post with your friends and wider network to remind others that no one chooses to have T1D. 💙 #diabetesawareness #diabetesawarenessweek #GBDoc

Hi @SkyNews It's not an "artificial pancreas" "Hybrid closed loop" is accurate, as your guest noted. Everyone with #T1D needs the option to access this technology. #GBDoc

On the way home from a really impactful #UKPCEDD26 (UK Professional Conference on Eating Disorders and Diabetes) at the beautiful University of Warwick. Today explored the overlap between #diabetes, eating, mental health and everyday life - covering everything from early intervention and psychological therapies, through to research, technology and beyond. Importantly, it was grounded in #LivedExperience from the very start 💙 The depth of expertise in the room was inspiring, but what also really stood out was the openness, curiosity and willingness to ask difficult questions in such a supportive environment. Huge thanks to the speakers, organising committee and everyone who shared their insight and experiences so openly. Such an important topic. Really proud to be there alongside the brilliant Breakthrough T1D UK team - and great to see so many familiar faces 💙 (And thank you Simon and Sarah for making the return 🚆 journey fly by!) #Type1Diabetes #T1D @BT1DUK #GBDoc #NIDoc

Here at Breakthrough T1D HQ, we’re kicking off Diabetes Awareness Week with a myth-busting guide to type 1 diabetes (T1D)! 🎥 You might be used to hearing that ‘unhealthy lifestyle choices’ cause T1D, or that ‘only kids can get type 1’. But this is simply not true. T1D is an autoimmune condition, and anyone can get it at any age. So, with over 400,000 people living with T1D in the UK, it’s never been more important to have a quick refresher on this often-misunderstood condition. 💙 If you think we missed a common myth, feel free to debunk it below. This is why type one diabetes is a dick. No logic to the high. None. I ate fewer carbs than usual through the day. Exercised hard. Same long acting dose. The hypo? I got pissed off with it refusing to come down and shot up too much insulin. Sue me #GBDoc
