I think I have a good plan to introduce programming to my 10 yo son. He's gone through a bunch of courses based on Scratch. It's time to start traditional source code programming.
- focus is game development
- platform is Godot
- language is gdscript (similar enough to python)
- we go over full online tutorials together
- I act as a student that learns with him too
- go over 2 or 3 online tutorials that cover the same concepts
There's nothing bad about me being the teacher and my son being the student. However, this structure where both of us are students together is likely to have higher learning impact. (just a personal opinion from my experience teaching at a university)
