📢 A digital twin approach for the identification and update of ecological infrastructure by Audrey Lambiel, Gregory Giuliani @greggiuliani, Nathan Külling& Anthony Lehmann 👉doi.org/10.1080/20964471.202… 💌Addressing the global environmental crisis necessitates coordinated efforts, supported by open and #reproducibleresearch practices. Such practices aim to enhance the reliability, efficiency, and credibility of scientific outputs. Innovative tools are necessary for systematic conservation planning. This technical note presents a reproducible and automated approach for supporting #landmanagement and planning by identifying and updating ecological #infrastructure (EI). Grounded in #openscienceFindable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable principles #datamanagement, and #digitaltwin (DT) concepts, the method focuses on the Canton of #Geneva, #Switzerland. It integrates species distribution modelling, #ecosystemservice assessments, and spatial prioritization within a shared #JupyterLabenvironment. The infrastructure centralizes data, automates indicator calculations, and ensures transparency, traceability, and reproducibility through version control and metadata generation. Ecological tools like #Zonationenable the identification of high-priority #conservation areas aligned with international targets. The system facilitates collaborative #workflowsand indicator updates. Its architecture allows scalability to broader regions and scenario modelling, laying the foundation for a DT of Geneva’s environment. Despite challenges in harmonizing workflows across institutional partners, this solution enhances efficiency and replicability in EI planning. The methodology is transferable to other regions and adaptable to various environmental modelling domains, offering a robust base for sustainable territorial management. All scripts needed for the process are stored and described in a #GitHubrepository: github.com/ALambiel/envirosp…. #Ecologicalinfrastructure #ecosystemservices #spatialanalysis #biodiversity #bigearthdata #digitalearth #geoscience #remotesensing #earthobservation #GIS #dataanalysis #BigData #FAIR #SpatialDataInfrastructure #SDI

I accidentally shift deleted folder of my side project. Thankfully, the githubrepository had the latest commit, so I did not lose any work. This is a bad habit, and I need to get rid of it.

I trained a model, What is next? Releasing code to the Public GitHub repository Code is already at GitHub, but in a private repo. What would I lose if I make it public? Well, people assume that all public code should be perfect and regardless will be judged if it is not the case. In reality, no one cares. Just doing it. Releasing it as is, no refinement. Making code public is an important psychological step. Releasing non-perfect code is a confident, bold move. Besides, all later steps are based on this one. Make the world a better place :D #codeblog #githubrepository #pypilibrary #colabnotebook #webapp #paper

🌟 Beginner to PRO Coding Experience – Impact Report Highlights! 🌟 We are thrilled to share the incredible outcomes of the Beginner to PRO Coding Experience, a 2-month program conducted twice a week, aimed at empowering developers with hands-on skills in Web3 development using the Internet Computer Protocol (ICP). 🚀 Key Metrics: ✅ 100 participants joined the program. ✅ 50 participants successfully completed all modules. ✅ Over 20 canisters deployed on ICP by participants, with standout projects showcasing real-world applications of decentralized technology. ✅ 5GB data bundles provided to participants to ensure seamless engagement. ✅ $500 USD bounty awarded to exceptional projects for their innovation and real-world application. Selected Projects: 🏆 Decentralized Health Records System: A secure, decentralized way to manage health records using ICP. 🏆 Funme: A crowdfunding platform enabling users to create, view, and donate to projects. 🏆 Decentralized Land Registry: A system to enhance transparency and reduce fraud in land transactions. We also provided participants with additional learning resources via the Zero-To-Dapp Workshop GitHubRepository, covering essential topics like canister deployment and smart contract development. Partnership Milestone: We formed a strategic partnership with the Computer Science Society - KNUST, further expanding ICP’s reach within the academic community and fostering innovation among students. 🎉 This program wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of our participants, mentors, and partners. Together, we’re building a stronger, more vibrant ecosystem powered by ICP. We’re excited to see these developers continue to innovate and contribute to the ICP ecosystem. The future of Web3 is bright, and we’re just getting started!
