Google has removed GoogleVR/Daydream libraries from its servers. Developers still wanting to target these devices, will need to find the libraries themselves (currently available on GitHub) and integrate them into their projects to continue being able to build their applications.

No idea. Hopefully, by accident, although that won't help anyone whose device it bricks. The device still works well, even though Google dropped support for GoogleVR and Daydream some time ago. Best of luck to their Android XR partners!
