There was a hack day pitch to do the carbon part of this at the #aas235 #hackaas ! I think @davidwhogg pitched it? Not sure if any progress was made. I think there was also an astro hack week this year, but I can't recall who (@reneehlozek maybe does?)

It was a decade of changing how we meet and work together in #astronomy, with #astrohackweek, #gaiasprint, #tessninja, #hackaas, and so much more. Thanks to @jakevdp and @Tiana_Athriel and so many others for putting us on this path. And #aas235 #hackaas is just one week away!

Definitely networking, IMO, but especially early on that includes within your subfield, so it's good to go to at least one topic-specific session and meet people there. But in general, I've found workshops, job-advice panels, and #HackAAS the most useful. CC @etengastro
