Recently someone I respect very deeply asked me if I was a hyper networker. This question caught me by surprise.
It is true that I make a point of talking to people, yes. I’ll generally meet with anyone who asks (assuming I’m available), and I constantly am reaching out to people. It may give the impression that I’m “networking” — looking for a job, whatever have you — but it’s actually a learned behavior.
I’m a left tail of the IQ curve. It is what it is, I can’t change that. By meeting with people, and taking great interest in what theyre interested in, I learn about the spectrum of opinions one can have about basically anything. I’m not doing this to steal, of course, but more so because I genuinely need the help.
So no I’m not a hypernetworker Mark, I’m just very stupid.
