Today was a proper farewell, with a surprise of heading to Basingstoke. The time now has come to bid farewell to these trains, for real this time.

A chapter closes on the South Western tonight.
The SETG have filtered out over the last few days to say thank you and farewell to the #SWR#Class455 fleet.
Almost all of us have worked on them at one time or another as fitter, guard or driver. We’re sad to see the end of them.
Today will be the last day of the SWR Class 455s in regular service after 43 years in service with @SW_Help#Class455#SouthWesternRailway Class 455 1983 - 2026 it will be an end of era for South Western Railway
Here today, gone tomorrow (apparently...).
