Today, I had the honour of attending the Senate Delegated Legislation Committee while accompanying H.E. the Prime Cabinet Secretary, Dr.Musalia Mudavadi, during deliberations on the Intergovernmental Relations Sector Forum Regulations. The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation and consultation between the National Government and County Governments through the establishment and operationalization of Intergovernmental Consultative Sectoral Forums pursuant to the provisions of the Intergovernmental Relations Act. The key objectives of the regulations are: 1. To provide procedures for constituting and operationalizing intergovernmental consultative sectoral forums in line with Section 38(2)(e) read together with Section 13(2) of the Act. 2. To provide a structured platform for cooperation, consultation, and coordination between the National and County Governments in the implementation of policies and legislation.
