I think its also laziness. Most of these types arent really programmers or jsdevs but more so framework users. I have a colleague who can not figure out basic js syntax but throw it into a component and he suddenly understands.
They cant or dont want to see what else is viable

I use typescript to avoid errors so as long as it compiles it's error free, so I don't need to catch errors.
