I made a menubar utility for MacOS that helps me keep an eye out for localhosts gone crazy.
I call it LocoHost.
Running 10 workspaces in parralel with @conductor_build makes it easy to have some server run amock.
Today, it caught a server that had been running for 9 days 🫣

I made an extension called Preview.
Cursor can render your localhosts inside of the IDE.
No need to bounce to your browser for testing.
The extension also has a Direct Select mode to detect & copy the DOM elements. Makes it easy to give your chat context if you can't find the item :)

how localhosts work underneath?
- its a special domain that resolves to the loopback IP address 127.0.0.1.
- this lets your machine talk to itself
- useful for local development and testing

Problem with handshake is its not pointed to by default for dns, so from a ux perspective nobody will use it, to much friction. Otherwise just ask them to modify localhosts right?
They still touch a bank account. The issue is that we can't transfer titles without touching a bank
