🧵 Apple, your M4 Mac mini & Studio are beasts—but why the limits?
1/I'm using the new Mac mini with M4, and let me tell you—it's a monster. Silent, lightning-fast, insanely efficient. Easily one of the best setups I've had.
But... two things don't make sense 🧵👇
2/🚫 No “Hey Siri” support on Mac mini or Mac Studio.
Even if you plug in a high-quality external mic, Apple just doesn’t allow it.
Yes, really. The only way to use Siri is by pressing a keyboard shortcut or clicking manually.
3/Now let’s talk about bug #2:
đź“· Continuity Camera (iPhone as webcam) on macOS Sequoia iPhone has a weird issue:
It works wirelessly ONLY if you:
Plug the iPhone into your Mac first
Then unplug it
And DON’T close the video app
Otherwise? It won’t reconnect properly.
4/This should be seamless. Apple markets Continuity as “it just works.”
But instead, it feels like a workaround.
For users with Apple’s most powerful Macs, this shouldn’t be happening.
5/⚡️ To be clear: The M4 Mac mini and Studio are phenomenal.
Insane performance. Instant responsiveness. Top-tier multitasking.
An unbeatable experience for the price.
But these small restrictions? They make no sense.
6/💬 Apple, you’ve given us the best silicon in the world. Now let us unlock the full experience. Don’t let arbitrary software limitations hold us back.
