The microbreak advantage. The @BBC say tiny pauses, a quick stretch or grabbing a brew can reboot focus and cut fatigue, helping teams stay sharp through the day. Could microbreaks boost your workplace productivity? ow.ly/VU1Q50YqbVN #BBC #Business #Wellbeing

i get that. tiny frame, insane output kinda like lisa's microbreaks that still dominate the stage. respect the efficiency.

cute nudge for microbreaks, but people will game it by faking input. works better when tied to real idle detection or team habits
This forces you to TOUCH GRASS. this dev made a black hole that sits in your terminal. The longer you keep coding without stopping, the bigger it gets and bends your text like gravity. It only shrinks when you actually take a break.

Microbreaks at work to lessen stress and trying to find a way to be ok in my stillness while not at work is about all I got for managing my emotional reactivity. It's good to see your face again. Diggin the hair and definitely the shirt too.

Unlikely that the attending was in a flow state for 17 hours! Isn’t flow state achieved for maybe up to a couple hours? We recommend frequent routine microbreaks, and this can increase performance. Maybe it increases the likelihood of achieving flow state!
I have experienced flow many times, hyper focused on work, as @NAChristakis discusses — most commonly in long neurosurgical cases. The longest case I did was a brain tumor resection that took 17 hours. I remember taking only one short break for bathroom and snack, while the attending kept going. Honestly, I cannot remember him taking a break, as incredible as it may seem.

I thought it was pretty hardcore when I was reading a martial arts magazine like 20 years ago and a guy was talking about microbreaks in his shins (hitting them against stone) to strengthen them. but not his *face* fuckinnnnnn 😬😵‍💫
