No wonder @michaelgove wants to first of all have a chat with developers about the small matter of £4billion. They are his paymaster who have paid generously into Tory coffers. Must be a bit embarrassing and awkward. #MoreThanCladding
As predicted and developers may have a point about cladding being bought in good faith. However, missing fire breaks and a whole host of fire safety issues were sold to leaseholders in bad faith. #morethancladdingft.com/content/6cf323fd-e958…
@michaelgove human beings have lived with this for 12 months. The daily drilling and banging is horrendous. No compensation. Nothing. It's inhumane. Fund must include all fire defects and waking watch. It's #morethancladding
More chaos and confusion in the government’s treatment of leaseholders hit by the building safety scandal. This is appalling. Labour is seeking cast iron guarantees that leaseholders won’t be the victims of unfair, unjust costs.
#EndOurCladdingScandal#morethancladding
This is pretty appalling. In April, the govt told these leaseholders their cladding bills would be covered by state funding. Then they withdrew that offer blaming an error. Now the residents face having to find around £20k each or risk losing their homes

We’ve got a plan: a Building Works Agency to assess, fix and fund and then certify all tall buildings. Then pursue those responsible for costs.
And we would put in law that leaseholders won’t pay.

Labour’s priority is to get innocent homeowners out of this fix. We will work with any MP to resolve this crisis, and amend the Building Safety Bill to give leaseholders the protections that have long been promised by the Government. /3
#EndOurCladdingScandal#morethancladding
The Government has failed to provide legal protections to leaseholders, so hundreds of thousands of innocent residents continue to be landed with enormous bills, which they just can’t afford, to fix problems they did not cause. /2

PM clearly not across the detail of his own Bill. He’s betraying leaseholders despite his promise the Building Safety Bill would protect them from huge unjust costs. It does not.
It’s also causing a backlash with own backbenchers as they were promised it would
#Morethancladding
Contrary to the promises made by Ministers, the #BuildingSafetyBill does little to help those facing huge remediation bills.
The Government must legislate to protect all leaseholders from the costs of fixing historic fire safety defects.

@TheSundayTimes reports misleading and inaccurate info on the progress to remediate unsafe buildings. Our priority is making sure residents are safe by removing dangerous cladding from the highest risk buildings as quickly as possible. Our response:
