Trump saved this country from an intended total shift to the left with his first administration, cut short, yes, but absolutely saved. I am so thankful for his determination to complete the job of and stop our landslide to total domination by socialism, or worse.
If this congress would get totally on board in supporting his platform, we could be quite ready for the upcoming administration. 2026 and certainly 2028 should be secure but liberals never quit and they play very dirty. Census issues, voter ID in all states, continued deportation of illegals weigh greatly in favor of conservatives plus other issues POTUS supports.
So,
@TonemanLives .. I think a great deal about our current legal immigration statutes. I've read and reread them. I agree with and mostly support the principles/basis in then. Yet, I wonder, with the technology we have today, why there can't be a plan for a person who wants to immigrate to the US, to begin the process in their oun country. Online applications, courses to take, criteria to meet to prove their good intent to then enter the US and ultimately, ready to complete naturalization in terms of residency, job, productivity, appearing at immigration offices routinely...then finally be sworn in. Unlike administrations before, we must have strictly enforced deportation actions for failure to 100% comply, once in country.
Our current legal immigrants, citizens, can never be dissed by amnesty for illegals now here. They must go back to their home country. They did the hard work and that can't be undermined.
Illegals here now and in the event future illegals gain entry, can in no way be rewarded by our system. That lure must end.
Once our current, horrid, illegal situation is resolved, I am pro immigration, but strictly regulated.
I enjoy the multiperspectivity of your posts. I'd like to see a civil discussion somewhere about what others think future legal immigration should be, statutorily.
Thanks for your time.
