Last week, the North Carolina SBI Computer Crimes Unit participated in the execution of ten search warrants across the state related to Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC). Seven of these search warrants resulted in the arrest of suspects, while three are still pending further investigation and processing of the seized evidence. These investigations cleared dozens of CyberTips received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) concerning the solicitation or sexual exploitation of children. The SBI Computer Crimes Unit leads the North Carolina Internet Crimes Against Children (NCICAC) Task Force, which consists of nearly 250 agencies across the state, all dedicated to protecting the most vulnerable members of our society. We greatly value their partnership in this critical work! Can someone give this sweet fella the loving home he deserves? This is Smoke. The poor guy arrived as a stray with those chopped ears and an old eye injury. He also weighs about 84 pounds at the moment so it's hard not to glance at him and think "Wow, what a big tough dog!" ....but he's not rough and tough. He's just big and goofy, and SO SWEET. He was great for his exam and vaccines when he arrived. And he's always looking for a toy to bring to me when I visit him. Stop by and visit this handsome man in person, it only takes 2.5 seconds for him to steal your heart. He needs a good home with comfy beds and TONS of toys. In fact, we hope his new family will supply him with so many toys that we get a photo of him with a new toy at least once per month....or maybe even once per week.
