So saddened about the tragic death of eminent historian Gordon Wood. I drew upon his pathbreaking scholarship on the exceptionalism of the American Revolution in writing my book — George Washington, Entrepreneur. Here is a great talk Professor Wood gave on GW at the @AmRevInstitute in 2013. He talks about GW’s greatness both in inspiring Americans to fight for the new nation and in giving up power as general and president. He notes about GW — as I do in my book — that “certainly he was a learned man, and he read copiously.” May Gordon Wood RIP, & may he inspire us with his rigorous scholarship of the American Revolution as we approach our 250th anniversary! americanrevolutioninstitute.…

Actually an established company can't build pathbreaking tech like LLM. Only a startup can. But India killed any chances of that by funding Sarvam (Nandan's protege). They came to US to raise money and returned empty handed. Some Indians think that US VCs did it to protect OpenaI/Anthorpic. The reality is that Sarvam "founders" are not founder material.

Why should they? They're first and foremost loyal to their cause. Just like the Russians don't care about anything unrelated to their country, ditto for the Chinese, even we should stop covering them and focus more on our own affairs. The only exception to this should be if any of the above mentioned parties has something important/pathbreaking or of relevant concern to us.
