3.3.6.6 Released - Submodule Code Stripping PLAY NOW: supertrip.land ⚙️ Optimization: Enabled Strip Engine Code and High Code Stripping in Unity Project settings. This reduces code sizes and increases run time speeds of the games WebAssembly code. ⚙️ Optimization: Enabled Submodule stripping on game builds, which lets us drop smaller submodules of larger system packages - further reducing code size and increasing runtime performance ⚙️ Optimization: Prior to using submodule stripping, the compiled game code was forced to include excess system binaries which we were not using — those are now completely removed from the final game build ⚙️ Optimization: Reduced final compressed WebAssembly size from 10.2Mb to 8.4Mb. These changes won’t impact performance for users on good hardware, but are the small improvements that make STL go from unplayable to playable on lower end devices ❌ Optimization: Removed tons of bloated packages, such as System.Data, System.XML, WebGPU support, Physics2D, & System.LINQ — all of which were previously unused but inside of our shipped game binary

1,000 ships on a 512 x 512 map, path generation is instant, doesnt even bump the profiler, hitches in framerate are Physics2D having a hard time doing collision against that tilemap collider, unit collision is off. This is running on a laptop AMD Ryzen 2.1GHz #Unity #indiedev

こちらに解説がある「四分木」という方法がまさにグリッドの方法を発展させたものになります marupeke296.com/COL_2D_No8_Q… が、他の方も仰るように、UnityのCollider系コンポーネントやPhysics2Dの衝突判定処理が内部的に上記の方法を使って最適化しているはずなので、車輪の再発明にはなりますね!
