It's time to make our electric grid safer.
All of the "nuclear" people are basically advocates of replacing one type of steam generator with another. They generate, they distribute, you hook up and you pay. Even new small 'nukes' are too big for us to escape.
The more folks and small communities that install solar/wind with battery back-up, the better off you and our grid will be. (And I include solar just to be complete.)
Ya'll maybe can list more advantages, but here's a few offhand:
Near elimination of transmission line fires.
You remain in control of your power.
(prediction) Your power will be cheaper in a few years.
(pred.) Less polution as batteries/panels improve.
Although the grid will atrophy, it will do so gradually making large scale pwer outages much less likely.
w/appologies to Crash Davis: Big generators are fascist, get some small generators. It's more democratic.
