That’s a fair take.
Avatar Wan didn’t really kiľļ mystery so much as reframe it. Instead of vague legends, we got a clear origin for the Avatar cycle, Raava/Vaatu balance, and how bending spread through the world.
And the storybook style actually helped—it made it feel like ancient myth being told, not just exposition. For a lot of fans, it didn’t shrink the world, it gave it a foundation.
People act like revealing Avatar Wan ruined the mystery, but for a lot of us it did the opposite.
For the first time, we got to see how the Avatar cycle began, where bending came from, and why the Avatar even exists.
Add in that stunning storybook art style, and Wan's journey became one of the most unique and memorable pieces of Avatar lore ever made.
