🚨Brilliant reporting from CNN’s @katie_polglase, a must watch interview on Epstein associate Daniel Amar Siad.
Daniel Amar Siad, a Swedish-French modeling scout, was a key recruiter for Jeffrey Epstein's network, as revealed in recently declassified U.S. Department of Justice Epstein files.
He appears in over 1,000 documents (some reports note nearly 2,000 mentions), including emails where he sent Epstein photos of young women and teenage girls (often from Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, and elsewhere), discussed scouting efforts, and received payments from Epstein.
Epstein associate Jean-Luc Brunel explicitly identified Siad to investigators as a "scout or recruiter of girls and/ or women for Jeffrey Epstein."
Siad has also faced rape and grooming accusations from former models (including a Swedish woman and others), which he denies, claiming professional relationships and that he trusted Epstein.

New Politico reporting fills in the 24 hours behind the Fable 5 / Mythos 5 shutdown, and it's messier than the press releases. And two sides contradict each other.
- The first alarm to the White House came from Amazon CEO Andy Jassy (The Information confirmed that yesterday), who flagged that Fable's guardrails could be bypassed.
- He was answering a government request for feedback, and per Politico he wasn't the only one. By Friday it had reached Bessent, Cyber Director Cairncross and Commerce Sec Lutnick, who pulled Amodei into three calls.
- From there the two sides don't agree on anything. The White House says export controls were a last resort after hours of trying to get Anthropic to cooperate.
-Anthropic's camp says it got a 90-minute deadline to kill the models, no threat detail, no offer to work it out.
Officials were reportedly stunned that Amodei, who has compared his own tech to a nuclear bomb, wouldn't pull it over a known hole.
I assume that Anthropic will release more information on Monday and further strengthen their position.
NEW: Inside the 24-hrs before WH slapped export controls on Anthropic
- Last Thursday, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy raised concerns about Fable jailbreak to Trump admin
- Friday AM, Sean Cairncross, Bessent, Susie etc. held WH call to discuss
- Then White House started reaching out to Anthropic to speak with Dario Amodei, who was at a wellness retreat.
- When Amodei was finally available past 1pm, he had three tense phone calls with a combo of ppl including Cairncross, Bessent, Lutnick, Kessler, Will Scharf, Richard Walters, and Walker Barrett.
-Amodei tried to clear up what he assumed was a misunderstanding. He defended the guardrails and distinguished between universal and non-universal jailbreak
- Cairncross and Bessent were unmoved and asked Amodei to take down Fable and work with the admin to fix the vulnerabilities. (A WH official said Amazon’s findings were run past the NSA and they felt they had “proof.”)
- Amodei asked for more time and info, but he made no commitments to pull the model
- Bessent told Amodei directly at one point that he was making a “bad decision”
- By Friday evening, the Trump admin imposed its export controls.
- “Export controls were a last resort after begging them for hours to work with us,” senior WH official said.
