Seriously... What have been stopping you? We've had CSX, Cake, ScriptCS and other flavours of C# scripting built on top of Roslyn for ages. Even some scripting engines outdating Roslyn...

I always get scriptcs confused with cs-script.net/
I think I used to use csscript more, and tried scriptcs a couple times.

Our latest Request for Comments (RFC) proposes removing support for scriptcs in favor of dotnet-script.
Benefits:
✅ C# version 8 language features
✅ Directly import NuGet packages in scripts
✅ Future .NET 5 & 6 support
✅ Removes Mono dependency for Linux

I've had the honor of merging a couple of PRs in the last few weeks, where the authors have told me it was their first OSS contribution, post-merge 😃
Takes me back to the day when @filip_woj merged my first #scriptcs PR 8 years ago 🥰

Get /files/scriptcs.txz from my website, extract that archive and use as in previous screenshot. All files are from the chocolatey scriptcs package with presumably good reputation.

You know you can embed C# in a PowerShell script, (but the PowerShell scanning and logging makes it no longer great for hacking, not to mention that it internally compiles and loads a .dll) but did you know about the C# REPL scriptcs?
- Known good EXE/DLL's
- No AMSI, logging...

What about C# interactive? It can run in VS or in a console. ScriptCS is another similar option.

Not one person, but I'd say @gblock, @filip_woj and @jrusbatch for starting scriptcs, my first real OSS endeavour. And @nmerrigan for nominating me for MVP. Without them I definitely wouldn't have had the opportunities I've had today 😊 Thanks guys! 😘
