⸻ ✨ Interfaith Scriptural Reasoning Event at Holy Trinity Church, Wimbledon – 11 November ✨ On 11 November, a meaningful Scriptural Reasoning session on the theme of Peace was held at Holy Trinity Church, Wimbledon, in partnership with Merton Citizens and the Dialogue Society. The evening brought together representatives from the Wimbledon Synagogue and Shree Ghanapathy Temple, creating a truly rich and diverse interfaith environment. Participants engaged in thoughtful discussions, exploring peace through passages from the Qur’an, the Torah, and the Bible. Following the reflections and dialogue, the group shared a selection of delicious Turkish food, which added warmth, community spirit, and a touch of cultural hospitality to the event. Last night, we gathered at Pacifica for a Scriptural Reasoning session, where friends from Christian and Muslim faiths came together to engage in a deep discussion on the theme of 'Encountering God.' We explored sacred texts from the Bible, Torah, and Quran, reflecting on stories of divine encounters—from Mary Magdalene's encounter with the risen Christ, Adam and Eve's conversation with God in the Garden of Eden, to Maryam's (Mary) encounter with the angel announcing the birth of her son. This unique interfaith dialogue helped foster mutual understanding and deeper insights into each other's beliefs, creating a space for reflection, connection, and shared spirituality.
