After losing freezer items TWICE (once was our own beef), we invested in "SensorPush" smart temperature monitors. Sends a notice (email) every time something is suspiciousm, or when the battery is low. It's saved us at least one more freezer full of stuff. Oh, we also put child locks on the doors. Hint - it's for us, we have no children in residence.

You have a refrigerator and a freezer and worried about the reliability of your appliances. We had this happen unfortunately the next morning food yuk pouring out of the freezer drawer. These are SensorPush Base and units go into fridge and freezer. And see on your phone w alerts

My sensor from @SensorPush has surpassed the Thermal operating limit in my car, in Pittsburgh. This is a science experiment to show why you should never leave loved ones in your car. @Bbabybear01 @ReedTimmerUSA @EdgarONealWX @KDKA @CNN @JimCantore @weatherchannel @NWSPittsburgh

The 162 black diamond watermelon is doing well. Have potential pollination on the main and if you look close you can see one on a secondary. My sensorpush stops working at 45 now though lol. 60 cooked it.

Dunno - you can connect via username and password or add devices by MAC address. It uses a gateway (wifi or ethernet device) to connect to the sensors which are bluetooth. I don't see anything in the settings about API, keys, etc. You can CSV though which is neat.

Thread below on @SensorPush - a wireless and internet enabled sensor that monitors temperature and humidity. Fridge, freezer, house, etc. It'll alarm if you exceed a max / min temp or humidity. I just discovered that they have a MacOS app ! Screenshots below.
SensorPush saved my fridge contents tonight 😮 @SensorPush - the fridge door has an alarm, but a container was holding the door ajar, and the alarm wasn’t going off. Could have lost $1000 of food and damaged the fridge. Instead I got an alarm on my phone 👇

With the increased cost of food, meat especially, a cheap insurance is a SensorPush sensor & gateway. Gateway lets to read/be contacted by the sensor when you’re away from Home. It’ll alarm you if the fridge / house / freezer is outside the delegated range. @SensorPush

FUCK FUCK FUCK!!! Somehow our freezer door was left open. Lost a side of beef and a whole lot of venison. I am not verry happy. Lot's of money and more importantly, food security was lost.

Sorry this happened I’ve been through it. Get the following and it won’t ever happen again: SensorPush sensor and gateway - sends you warnings when you exceedd a temp. gateway lets you check sensor temp when you’re away from home. Latch - prevents opening the door by mistake.

Soil Solarization. Pulled the plant and all weeds. Wet the soil. Placed GH grade plastic down and sealed the edges completely around it. Placed a SensorPush about 4" above the plastic to monitor the temps. I will leave this in place till September. Only hope to grow next year.

Ah, ok. I second @JPLawrencePhoto's suggestion of Sensorpush (I think I got rec'd from @frogsicles). The wifi gateway can be logged in on multiple phones and do email alerts. They are accurate and work with very little tinkering. I have them in animal units, freezers, rooms, etc

I really like SensorPush for my tanks. Works great for a few tanks, and in theory, could be scaled up to many, but each sensor is $50-70, which might be a lot. No subscription needed. You can get a WiFi hub that allows it to connect to internet and send alerts for temp/humidity
