This Zero Waste Week, we celebrate the power of transformation, where what the world calls waste becomes something meaningful. At Tata Power, our commitment to sustainability goes beyond clean energy. Through Anokha Dhaaga, we empower women community collectives to upcycle fabric scraps and surplus materials, giving them a purposeful second life. Taking this vision forward, our Smart Circularity program proudly showcases merchandise crafted from used PET bottles in collaboration with Recircle—a true example of turning waste into worth. Did you know? 1 metre of RPET fabric uses 1 kg of plastic waste—equivalent to 20 one-litre bottles, each weighing around 50 g. As of today we at Anokha Dhaaga have utilized over 5,000 metres of plastic and transformed it into tote bags, haversack bags, and t-shirts. Aligned with the Tata Power Climate Crew movement, these initiatives embody the spirit of Smart Circularity—reducing waste, lowering carbon footprints, and enabling communities to co-create a greener tomorrow.
