A significant innovation in thermal management and electronic cooling has been recognised with the grant of the Indian patent titled โ€œ๐—” ๐—ฆ๐˜†๐˜€๐˜๐—ฒ๐—บ ๐—ณ๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐—ง๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ง๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—บ๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—ฃ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ณ๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—บ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ฒ ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐—Ÿ๐—ถ๐—พ๐˜‚๐—ถ๐—ฑ ๐—–๐—ผ๐—น๐—ฑ ๐—ฃ๐—น๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ฒ๐˜€โ€ (Patent No. 591250; Application No. 202341071069). The patent has been granted to Dr Lakshmi Sirisha Maganti, Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, SRM University-AP, Amaravati, and Mr Mathiyazhagan Shanmugam, PhD Scholar, Department of Mechanical Engineering, SRM University-AP, Amaravati. Conventional testing systems typically evaluate cooling solutions under uniform heat loads, which rarely reflect real-world operating conditions. Addressing this challenge, the patented system introduces an advanced testing platform capable of generating controlled non-uniform heat loads and hotspots, closely replicating the thermal behaviour of modern electronic components. The innovation integrates independently controlled cartridge heaters, PID-based temperature regulation, microprocessor-driven automation, and real-time thermal monitoring to enable precise assessment of liquid cold plates under realistic conditions. By enabling comprehensive thermal characterisation and optimisation of cooling technologies, this invention has the potential to advance next-generation electronics, high-performance computing systems, power electronics, and industrial thermal management solutions. Congratulations to the inventors on this remarkable achievement in engineering innovation and intellectual property development. #SRMUniversityAP #SRMAP #SRMAmaravati #SRM #SRMUniversity #PatentGranted #Innovation #MechanicalEngineering #ThermalManagement #ElectronicCooling #ResearchExcellence #IntellectualProperty #EngineeringResearch #TechnologyInnovation

Conducted in collaboration with researchers from Marwadi University, India, the study addresses a critical challenge in geotechnical engineeringโ€”the accurate prediction of expansive soil behaviour. These soils swell when exposed to moisture and shrink upon drying, often causing severe damage to buildings, roads, and other infrastructure. Using an extensive database of geotechnical properties, the research evaluated Multiple Linear Regression (MLR), Ridge Regression, and the Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator (LASSO) model to predict soil swelling potential. The findings revealed that LASSO achieved the highest predictive accuracy (Rยฒ = 0.935), outperforming conventional approaches through its ability to identify the most influential soil parameters while reducing the impact of irrelevant variables. Beyond advancing scientific understanding, the research offers a practical pathway towards faster, more cost-effective, and reliable infrastructure planning, reducing dependence on lengthy laboratory testing and enhancing public safety in expansive soil regions worldwide. #SRMUniversityAP #SRMAP #SRMAmaravati #SRM #SRMUniversity #SRMAPResearch #ResearchAtSRMAP #ScientificReports #MachineLearning #ArtificialIntelligence #CivilEngineering #GeotechnicalEngineering #Infrastructure #SustainableDevelopment #DataScience #SoilEngineering

What began as a visionary idea under the leadership of Prof. Ch. Satish Kumar, Vice-Chancellor of SRM University-AP, Amaravati and former Vice-Chancellor of SRM University-Sikkim, has evolved into a promising innovation in affordable healthcare. The Oral Testing Kit for Cancerโ€”recognised through Government of India Design Registration (Design No. 451611-001)โ€”represents a significant step towards accessible, rapid, and non-invasive oral cancer screening. The original concept and translational vision for the technology were conceived by Prof. Ch. Satish Kumar during his tenure at SRM University Sikkim, in collaboration with dental experts Dr. K.T. Magesh and Dr. R. Aravindhan from Chennai Dental College. Building upon this foundation, the research, experimental validation, and prototype development were successfully carried out by Dr. Anup Gurung, Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry, SRM University Sikkim, and Ms. Nikita Chettri, Ph.D. Research Scholar, through the Bio-Medical Device Fabrication & Advanced Material Lab. Oral cancer remains a significant public health concern across North-East India, including Sikkim, where the widespread consumption of pan, tobacco and betel nut-based products contributes to a high incidence of oral cancer and pre-cancerous lesions. Recognising the challenges faced by people in remote regions and economically disadvantaged communities, the research team envisioned a solution that is simple, non-invasive, affordable and easy to use at home. The kit employs a rapid colourimetric screening method that can indicate potential oral cancer biomarkers within seconds, potentially enabling early detection without expensive equipment or specialised clinical infrastructure. SRM University-AP, Amaravati, proudly celebrates this achievement, recognising Prof. Satish Kumar's visionary leadership and applauding the outstanding scientific contributions of the SRM University Sikkim research team in transforming an idea into a practical healthcare innovation with the potential for real-world impact. #SRMUniversityAP #SRMAP #SRMAmaravati #SRM #SRMUniversity #HealthcareInnovation #OralCancerScreening
