Conventional testing systems typically evaluate cooling solutions under uniform heat loads, which rarely reflect real-world operating conditions. Addressing this challenge, the patented system introduces an advanced testing platform capable of generating controlled non-uniform heat loads and hotspots, closely replicating the thermal behaviour of modern electronic components. The innovation integrates independently controlled cartridge heaters, PID-based temperature regulation, microprocessor-driven automation, and real-time thermal monitoring to enable precise assessment of liquid cold plates under realistic conditions. By enabling comprehensive thermal characterisation and optimisation of cooling technologies, this invention has the potential to advance next-generation electronics, high-performance computing systems, power electronics, and industrial thermal management solutions. When real earthquake data is scarce, especially for huge events, scientists turn to simulations to estimate how hard the ground will shake. This study analyses three widely used simulation tools and finds something unexpected: their results differ less from how the tools are built than how they are set up. Drawing on over 4500 actual earthquake records, it shows that once each tool is carefully calibrated for the earthquake source, path and local soil effects, their once-divergent estimates fall into close agreement. The lesson: choosing the right settings matters more than the tool itself, and those settings don't always transfer between tools. Researchers from Equinor and the Institute for Energy Technology have developed an improved corrosion fatigue test methodology for unbonded flexible risers. India has had plenty of earthquake records, but using them has never been straightforward. Different groups processed the data differently, so engineers often could not rely on it with confidence. In this work, the authors went back to the raw recordings and handled them all in the same way. They compiled 778 records from 195 earthquakes to build a consistent dataset. It shows how strongly the ground shakes, how quickly it moves, and how long the shaking lasts. This gives engineers a much clearer basis for safer designs, especially in the Himalayan region where earthquake risk is high.
