Everyone cheers foreign AI, foreign chips, foreign platforms... until the day access comes with strings, sanctions or sudden "permission denied".
History repeats: those who control the tech, control the future.
India cannot afford to be a digital vassal state.
Build our own. Own our own. Lead our own.
Atmanirbhar in AI or remain dependent forever.
No middle path.
There are some people in India (you know who they are) who hv parroted the line that India need not build models and we shd focus on applications sans our models.
Today we know they were wrong.
This is the US response you shd educate them about. (im using polite language here).
As a minister, then as a citizen I hv cautioned abt Tech denial and wesponisation and argued strongly that India must build its #AI capabilities.
