Despite earlier denials, it has been revealed that Australian submariners were playing a part in the sneak US submarine attack — that sank the Iranian ship killing more than 80 young Iranian sailors on a goodwill voyage to India.
The bunkum about our submariners staying in their cabins on the US submarine during the sinking of the Iranian ship, came from a senior ASPI ‘expert’ on ABC Radio. ▪️No-one in government or in the Navy moved to correct this lie. ▪️Now it emerges the Australian submariners were on-station and on-duty — attending to ‘damage control’ during the attack. ▪️Despite earlier denials, the Australian submariners were playing a part in the submarine attack that sank the Iranian ship killing more than 80 young Iranian sailors. ▪️👇. And it was hidden from the public — until today. Thanks due to @DavidShoebridge in Senate Estimates.

Pressing the pressure point between your thumb and and forefinger can help a wee bit (apparently recommended to submariners pre taking any pill 💊 :)

They choosed small man as submariners. But it was cramped for them anyways. Just imagine the smell in the air of 50-60 man down there. And then the whole place is moving, sometimes violently.

Because lease agreement was such that better economics to buy outright. Morrison switched sub deal to USA & we're now getting screwed massively. Australia doesn't have enough submariners to justify keeping subs.

All the ex Navy submariners I know like this movie better than Crimson Tide or Hunt from Red October and say it's the most realistic depiction of life on a submarine in a film. As usual, comedies get the details better than dramas.

One thing that neither film nor tv can capture about submariners: the rather, er, "exotic" aroma that accompanies them when they're off boat. Well, not captured until smell-o-vision is invented, that is. 😬
