I'm in IT, started as a Linux sysadmin, then moved to AWS cloud, and now I'm a DevOps engineer.

Resources I have built that are worth bookmarking if you work in IT: Linux practice guide and command reference: localsysadmin.com/linux-prac… Cybersecurity fundamentals and server hardening guide: localsysadmin.com/cybersec Sysadmin hub: email migration, DNS, WordPress, cPanel guides: localsysadmin.com/sysadmin Digital products including SysAdmin Toolkit, Cybersecurity Ops Guide, and AI-Driven SEO guide: shop.localsysadmin.com For questions, work enquiries, or if you want to talk through an IT problem: zubair@localsysadmin.com Everything I have published here over the past month is practical content from real client work. Not theory. Not recycled tutorials. If any of it helped you, share it with one person who would benefit. That is the only ask.

Which one is best for someone who doesn't want to become a sysadmin. I have a Win7 system that still works fine, but "apps" that support it are becoming rarer

Step 5: Get ANY IT job, even if it's not "security" (Month 4-8) > Helpdesk, sysadmin, NOC — doesn't matter which > Real systems experience beats theoretical security knowledge every time > Security teams want people who've broken things in production first

terus ada yang lebih gila lagi gue kasih claude akses ke terminal server dia bisa debug error, restart service, cek log sambil jelasin kenapa error-nya terjadi kayak punya sysadmin yang nggak pernah tidur 😂

Unlikely - You are looking at maybe 2 sysadmin level folks, one of whom is the manager, the other few are support type roles Combine that with the fact SSO often costs extra and edtech is full of terrible vendors that don't even offer it... it sucks a lot :(
