A journalist recently asked me why we decided to launch DermaScan with
@joinhexa .
A company that’s not really tech.
Not immediately readable through classic venture capital lenses.
And whether, deep down, purpose had overtaken ambition.
It’s a great question.
And it goes straight to the positioning we chose at Hexa from day one.
👉 Seeking meaning, without ever giving up ambition.
That’s exactly what our mission stands for:
“Fueled with ambition. Driven by purpose.”
Today, DermaScan (HX24), founded by Florian Legris and Hadrien Lepage, raises €2.5M and opens its second screening center in Paris (Bastille).
DermaScan is not “just” software.
It’s a full system:
medical-grade dermoscopy technology, clinical protocols, software tools, and operational excellence
serving a model that is both highly scalable and strongly profitable.
📊 The context is clear:
• Over 1 million skin cancers are diagnosed every year in Europe
• 1 in 3 cancers is a skin cancer
📍 In just one year, through its first center, DermaScan has already:
• screened 5,000 patients
• detected 50 cancers, including 8 melanomas, all at an early stage
DermaScan’s ambition is simple and powerful:
👉 tackle a major public health issue
👉 while building an economically ambitious network of medical centers
These two goals are not opposites.
They are perfectly compatible.
Huge thanks to the investors joining the journey:
