you precompute "light textures" - ie you have an extra texture map for every object (every *instance* in the level, not every asset) that has the light 'brightness' for each texel stored in it. All these texturemaps are computed as a 'baking' step in the Editor. It's not used in Fortnite so it's not possible in UEFN.

Let me rephrase it: this bottle doesn't contain simulated liquid, instead it is using complex shader based on cubemaps and texturemaps

looks so bright because it has an extra layer of colors, this should be full black but it still has a fake distance fog with color on it while the true fog is on 0 and pitch black. dunno why rs3 devs do that... maybe a left over from the cube map for new texturemaps...🫠

I love Aidenfur's hairs for the great UVs, and the texturemaps should be interchangeable between their hair assets. Some of them aren't quite the same UV however and you might get that seam issue. Easy fix is to just zoom all of the maps in slightly.

Do folks really want expensive procedural nodes running on battery-powered mobile GPUs? If not, it may be better to bake out the procedurals into glTF PBR texturemaps.

Shader refinements: I have colourful ambient occlusion activated. and edge detection that triggers a scratch map here and there. The texturemaps are detailed but restrained on specifics so they are reasonably easy to apply with simple mapping. #technouveau #b3d #blender

The analogies continue in so many odd and interesting ways. For example how 3D games use empty “frameworks” with “texturemaps” or “collision domains” aka Fields. Or how Multiplayer games work with graphics loaded in local memory but tagged coordinates sent between “clients”
