For this thread, we’re using thinkRF 2030 (or VIAVI JD780B28GDC) which is a 28GHZ downconverter. A downconverter is usually used for extending the frequency coverage of a spectrum analyzer. Like, if your spectrum analyzer covers up to 6GHZ only, and you need to analyze some 5G signals in Ka-band region, you have to downconvert that signal to something below 6GHZ.
