Their Dine and Dash explanation starts with: “We weren’t expecting to wake up viral (but we’re excited we did)”.
Here’s where they revealed the lie.
When we use a card to pay, we either enter a pin #, or we receive a receipt to sign.
It is when we add the server’s tip and verify the amount. The initial bill can’t have a signature line because your card hasn’t been charged yet.

$90 order. 3 screaming kids. Rice everywhere. Endless refills. She smiled the whole time… and they left her $4.
If you can’t afford to tip, you can’t afford to eat out. Stop treating service workers like servants.

Tipping for carryout is a way to show appreciation for the hard work of food service staff. They prepare your meal with care, even if you don’t dine in! #TipYourServer
I absolutely hate tipping culture in the US. I'm a very generous tipper but I'm resentful we even have to do it. I also hate the added tax at the register. Europe does it the right way, the price you see is the price you pay.
