This is the same tired redistribution fantasy that ignores how wealth is actually created and what happens when governments try to seize it. Elon Musk’s net worth is mostly paper value tied to Tesla and SpaceX stock. It isn’t sitting in a vault as cash waiting to be handed out. Confiscating 15% of it wouldn’t magically “clean up all the oceans” or “eliminate poverty.” Governments have already spent trillions on anti-poverty programs and environmental initiatives with mixed-to-poor results. The idea that one more round of forced wealth transfer will suddenly create utopia ignores decades of evidence that throwing money at problems without fixing incentives and execution usually fails. SpaceX has done more to advance space access than any government program in decades. Reusable rockets dramatically cut launch costs. Starlink provides internet to remote and underserved areas. NASA now contracts with SpaceX instead of relying solely on more expensive legacy systems. Dismissing this as a “phallic obsession with rockets” is just childish name-calling that avoids engaging with the actual engineering and cost reductions that have been achieved. The data center in space idea is speculative, and moving electricity from space to Earth at scale has real technical hurdles. But innovation often starts with ideas that sound unrealistic until they’re not. The same people who mocked early electric cars and reusable rockets are usually the ones who later claim they were always in favor of progress once it succeeds. Wealth created through building valuable companies has produced far more real-world benefits — cheaper access to space, electric vehicles at scale, global communications — than redistribution schemes ever have. The notion that seizing a chunk of one person’s success will fix every major problem on Earth is economic illiteracy dressed up as moral clarity.

An evening made possible by a community that believes in giving back. Our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Ijaz Ahmad, Chairman APPAC, and Ms. Naheed Bhatti, Chairperson APPAC Women Wing, for hosting the Shahid Afridi Foundation fundraiser in New York and bringing together a community united for a meaningful cause. We are deeply thankful to everyone who attended, participated, and supported the SAF Housing Initiative. Your generosity will help provide safe and dignified homes to deserving families across Pakistan, giving them the foundation to build a brighter future. The evening was graced by Chairman @SAfridiofficial, Trustee @JK555squash, #ZaviyarNaumanIjaz, and Chairman SAF USA @imsharief1 who shared the impact of housing and the importance of standing together to uplift underserved communities. Together, we are building more than homes—we are building hope. #HopeNotOut

How can Artificial Intelligence help bridge healthcare data gaps and improve disease prediction in underserved communities? At the 8th Zetech University Research and Innovation Week Conference, Dr. Bonface Osoro, PhD, Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Digital Futures Center, University of Cincinnati @uofcincy, USA, presented research on using #AI and transfer learning to model infectious diseases, particularly malaria, in areas with limited data. I was hoping Disclosure Day might be the film to bring back to cinemas adult audiences who like mainstream original films but aren't into franchises or horror and have been feeling underserved since covid. Maybe some limited success on that front.
