On the 10th anniversary of the murder of our wonderful friend and colleague Jo Cox, I pay tribute to her life and legacy. She was and remains an inspiration. She was a courageous, empathetic, conviction politician, a feminist, socialist, internationalist, mother, wife, sister and friend.
In London, Jo and her wonderful family lived in a houseboat on the Thames, moored at Hermitage moorings in Wapping in our borough of Tower Hamlets. Jo and her family have a special place in our hearts, in our diverse east end community.
At a time when there are growing attempts to spread hatred, hostility and disunity in our country, we must and will continue to honour her legacy by standing by her message of hope and unity.
