UCT MedTech/ DHRS Workshop in Full Swing! A Day of Innovation and Learning at UCT!
The "Integrating Innovation in Practice" workshop has successfully kicked off this morning and is now in full swing!
Prof. Sudesh Sivarasu opened the workshop with a warm welcome to all participants. He delivered an insightful overview of medical devices and assistive technology, setting the stage for a day packed with learning and innovation.
Mr. Edmund Wessels then took the stage, engaging the participants with an in-depth session on medical device development.
Following Ed's session, participants dived into an interactive activity. It's amazing to see health and rehabilitation professionals actively engaging and applying their new knowledge in a practical setting.
The afternoon promises more exciting sessions and hands-on experiences. Stay tuned as we continue to harness the power of technology to revolutionize healthcare practices. Sarah McEwan, Project Manager of UCvenT BPAP Ventilator at MedTech and Michael A., a seasoned Occupational Therapist pioneering technology industrialisation within UCT MedTech will guide participants through the design of a 3D-printed product. This workshop is a hands-on training on 3D Printing with various 3D printers at UCT MedTech/ BMERC.
This full workshop is co-hosted by Helen Buchanan and The Department of Health and Rehabilitation Science at UCT.
