It's certainly great news that Roger Kearney has been released from prison after serving over 15 years for a murder he did not commit.
But he is only out on licence which is not good enough. He is an innocent man and needs to be exonerated.

So people are supposed to have total recall of events from years ago?
Any thoughts on any of the doctors' lack of memory at times?
Here are just a few of Dr Harkness's
"I was present at the Neonatal Mortality Meeting on 26 November 2015 but I do not remember any specific reference to or discussion about Child I's collapses and her death on 26 October 2015"
"I cannot remember if there were any specific debriefs concerning the death of Child A."
"I do not remember if anyone else was present or if there were any further conversations"
"I cannot remember any specific debriefs for deaths or clinical events"
"I cannot recall any concerns that I needed to raise"
"I do not recollect any specifics of these conversations"

Don't get me wrong. I'm grateful for all the support Lucy Letby is getting in highlighting her horrendous and utterly shameful wrongful conviction.
But, at the same time, it annoys me that some high profile people give the impression hers is the worst ever miscarriage of justice in UK history.
As horrendous as Lucy's is, it is by no means the worst. Not by a long long way. As unbelievable as that sounds.
There have been so many over the years. Some were eventually exonerated, albeit only after spending years or even decades rotting away in a cell as completely innocent people. But many are still inside.
One such person is Clive Freeman.
Lucy Letby has so far spent over 5 years in prison for murdering and attempting to murder babies that were neither murdered nor deliberately harmed.
Clive Freeman has so far spent over 37 years in prison for murdering a man that wasn't murdered.
He finally succeeded in getting the @ccrcupdate to refer his case to the Court of Appeal at the 6th attempt.
That was last August and although now in his 80's and dying of terminal cancer he has still not been given a date for his appeal.
How horrific is that?
So come on. All those with influence speak out. Help get that innocent man exonerated and released immediately so he can die in peace at home with some dignity.
Then campaign for major change in the entire UK judiciary. In particular the totally unfit for purpose appeals system.
Listen to Clive speaking in the short clip below and watch his full interview from a couple of years ago here. Then please do what you can to help.

I've proved you wrong multiple times but you never acknowledge it. You double down even when provided with irrefutable proof. A bit like the entire Lucy Letby case really. Overwhelming evidence has been provided to show she is innocent but you and the rest of the "she's guilty" lot stick your fingers in your ears and shut your eyes like spoilt nursery school children. A bit like the judiciary in fact.
Show some integrity. There is no shame in making mistakes. It's a human frailty. The shame comes from not having the good grace to own up to them and put them right.

“John Mason, a former SNP MSP who now sits as an independent, reasoned that having a proportion of inmates who had not committed a crime was the cost of a wider public good that people who were guilty were behind bars.”
