You may think I complain a lot but the pro/con list my ex made about me in 2008 said I complain a lot AND I'm fun.

Hey all, it’s publishing day for my book “How to Sell a Genocide,” which is a data-driven account of mainstream media’s role in creating the conditions of mass death in Gaza. 100% of royalties go to @MECAForPeace. Thank you! a.co/d/0eEN8Afq plutobooks.com/product/how-t…

Criticism of Disney Adults is a response to a deep American ill, but I'd argue it's also partly self-recognition. I wrote about tripping on mushrooms at Disneyland, the ideology baked into every Disney movie and park, and what Disney lovers and haters have in common (link below)

The Atlantic has long perfected the art of laundering elite consensus, and Annie Lowrey’s “New York Is Not a Democracy” brings the stench of that putrifying rot. Her essay on @ZohranKMamdani isn’t analysis or reportage. It’s narrative sabotage—slick, smug, and anchored to a worldview where only particular kinds of “assholes” are anointed to rule. open.substack.com/pub/suchit…

This is my niece Rima. She was born in the war. Today she is one year old, she spent her whole life in the war. She doesn't even know the taste of fruit.

There are also some newsletters I follow, such as @halemur's Maybe Baby, who used to write for Man Repeller. Although it's not really on fashion, but more culture stuff. I mostly follow it because I like her taste in things.

Years ago someone told me they were invited to a women's lunch in New York hosted by Jill Biden and ahead of the event they were all told in an email that Jill Biden requested no awkward silences

A lot has been written about the extent to which robots now sound like people, but less about the extent to which people now sound like robots. haleynahman.substack.com/p/1…

The pearl-clutching around students, employees, or websites using bots to write their essays, cover letters, or articles is missing an insight. If these formats are so easy to bullshit a robot can ace them, maybe they were never the vehicles for expression we pretended they were.

The only singularity AI can truly achieve is one that understands humanity at its most inhuman (and inhumane): data-driven, nihilistic, calculating, and backward-looking.

Anti-social behavior like this is not mature, polite, or cool. It actually makes everyone lonely and neurotic haleynahman.substack.com/p/1…

As an adult, don’t ask your friends to pick you up from the airport. Use uber, save a friendship.
