You will never be able to live a fulfilling life contributing to the greater society & to fearlessly stand by your conscience “If you engage every known/unknown person who slings mud or works hard to destroy you/your work”. Having said that Churchill’s quote never gets old! 😊

Well over 100 Stanford students walked out of Google CEO Sundar Pichai’s commencement speech at Stanford just now, chanting “Free, free Palestine.” Google has a cloud contract with the Israeli government. Lots of boos and cries of “shame on you” as well

Interesting analysis by @SatyaNadella. @Microsoft, which once defined previous technology eras, is now navigating the frontier challenge alongside a new generation of AI disruptors. In the early days, Microsoft used to define and dominate the platform era. Now the frontier is being shaped by others. The core idea is worth sitting with: every company now needs to build two forms of capital — human capital and token capital. And the learning loop between the two becomes the new IP of the firm. As someone who has been in #tech for 3 decades, this is one of the most exciting times, filled with challenges thrown at you at a different level of velocity. That itself gives major motivation, like the times we started to face this new era. @MiHCMHQ @FuturaTL

🇵🇰🇺🇸🇮🇷 BREAKING: Pakistan's PM Shehbaz Sharif just announced that the US-Iran peace deal has been reached. Immediate and permanent termination of military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon. Official signing ceremony is set on June 19, Switzerland. Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey credited as key mediators. Writer: Oliver
🇺🇸🇮🇷 Trump says to Netanyahu’s Beirut strike, that “Bibi shouldn’t have done that. I didn’t like it at all.” He also claimed Netanyahu supports the newest deal with Iran, saying, “Bibi is OK with it.” Yeah right. Either Netanyahu privately told Trump he supports the agreement, or Trump is doing what he does best: narrating the outcome he wants as if it’s already locked in. The real question: Will the deal he’s vouching for actually break the cycle, or just reset the clock? Source: WSJ / Writer: Oliver

NEW: Inside the 24-hrs before WH slapped export controls on Anthropic - Last Thursday, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy raised concerns about Fable jailbreak to Trump admin - Friday AM, Sean Cairncross, Bessent, Susie etc. held WH call to discuss - Then White House started reaching out to Anthropic to speak with Dario Amodei, who was at a wellness retreat. - When Amodei was finally available past 1pm, he had three tense phone calls with a combo of ppl including Cairncross, Bessent, Lutnick, Kessler, Will Scharf, Richard Walters, and Walker Barrett. -Amodei tried to clear up what he assumed was a misunderstanding. He defended the guardrails and distinguished between universal and non-universal jailbreak - Cairncross and Bessent were unmoved and asked Amodei to take down Fable and work with the admin to fix the vulnerabilities. (A WH official said Amazon’s findings were run past the NSA and they felt they had “proof.”) - Amodei asked for more time and info, but he made no commitments to pull the model - Bessent told Amodei directly at one point that he was making a “bad decision” - By Friday evening, the Trump admin imposed its export controls. - “Export controls were a last resort after begging them for hours to work with us,” senior WH official said. BREAKING: Trump says a deal with Iran is scheduled to be signed tomorrow. “Immediately after it is signed, the Hormuz Strait is OPEN TO ALL.” The president says the agreement will permanently prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon and described it as the exact opposite of the Obama-era nuclear deal. Trump also said no money will exchange hands under the agreement and warned that if the process falls apart, the U.S. has “the ultimate alternative.”

This explains @AnthropicAI #mythos export ban saga. @DavidSacks gives inside information. If this is true & if anthropic complied and fixed the issue the mythos will be back in the wild. Not sure why @DarioAmodei refuses to do this.
I’ve had a number of conversations with folks inside and outside government about the current situation with Anthropic, and here is what I believe to be true: — As we know, Anthropic publicly released its Mythos class models earlier this week under the commercial name Fable. — Fable is Mythos with guardrails. But if those guardrails fail, then you’ve exposed Mythos and its advanced cyber capabilities to people who shouldn’t have them. (Keep in mind that Anthropic itself widely promoted the idea that Mythos was a cyberweapon and needed to be regulated as such. They asked for government regulation of Mythos and championed the guardrails on Fable. If there is a vulnerability — big or small — it is Anthropic’s responsibility to patch.) — A highly credible trusted partner of both Anthropic and the USG who was testing Fable came forward with a jailbreak of those guardrails. The Admin asked Dario to fix the jailbreak or de-deploy the model. Dario refused. — In their blog post, Anthropic defended its decision by saying the jailbreak isn’t serious. That is not what the trusted partner and the USG believe; nor is that kind of minimizing language consistent with Anthropic’s brand as the AI safety company. It’s difficult to fathom how they could claim a jailbreak allowing operability of a cyber weapon could be defined as not “serious.” — In the past, Anthropic has always said that safety must be top priority and taken super seriously. In this case, Anthropic prioritized the continued offering of the consumer model over safety. — In reaction, the Admin issued the export control. The Admin did this reluctantly. It’s been very surprised that Anthropic hasn’t wanted to cooperate with a reasonable safety request (ie fixing the jailbreak issue). Anthropic’s reaction is very much at odds with their branding and ethos as a safe AI research community. — The Admin’s hope now is that Anthropic remediates the safety issue, the export control is lifted, and Fable goes back into general release. The Admin wants all of this to happen as soon as possible. It is frankly bewildered that Anthropic hasn’t wanted to comply with safety requests that it previously said were its highest priority. — Those trying to misdirect and tie this action to the prior DoW/Anthropic issues are wrong. The Admin values Anthropic’s technical capabilities and feels that this issue, while serious, should be easily resolved. The ball is in Anthropic’s court.

This is a major directive by US Gov! @AnthropicAI mythos/Fable5 banned
The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees. The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance. Access to all other Claude models is not affected. We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible. Read our full statement: anthropic.com/news/fable-myt…

These are the beautiful stories of mega IPO! #spaceX millionaires
A man working as a welder at SpaceX for $28 an hour has just become a millionaire. Juan Hernandez, who came from Mexico, welded rockets for SpaceX at $28 an hour. SpaceX gave him $10,000 in stock when he went full time in 2015, and he bought more with every paycheck for 10 years. $SPCX is now trading at $167, making his shares worth over $1 million.
